It is getting MUCH colder in my part of the world, and I've been thinking about making a scarf for Ellie as I mentioned yesterday. I have a few ideas, but was inspired by some lovely tutorials and I'd like to share my finds with you so you can make one too! (Sorry if it's Summer where you live and making a scarf is the last thing on your mind...just store these away for 6 months time!)
Don't know that i'll be able to do anything this beautiful with my clumsy knitting skills, but where else to turn for a knitted scarf tute than the Purl Bee? These four lovelies are my favourite from a big bunch at Purl:
The Icarus Scarf
The eleventh hour scarf
The birdseed scarf
And how cool is this free pattern for an extra warm men's scarf from cotton and cloud?
But if you prefer to sew, then try this patchwork kids scarf for the little someone in your life Sew Mama Sew:
And if you're not a sewer or a knitter, then I also have one for you! Try this No-Sew Jersey Scarf from Altered Cloth
A few of you requested the tutorial for my birthday scarf, so if you stay tuned, I promise that little how-to will be along very soon as well.
