Olive scarf complete. I'm mostly happy with this, being my first crochet project. I did make quite a few errors to start with, and I was halfway through before I noticed, so just hoping that they blend in with overall effect when I give it to the recipient.
It's so light and squishy and perfectly soft. I want to keep it badly, so I'm making another. This one's off to keep another neck warm.
Thanks Kate (where I originally spotted this lovely scarf) for your encouragement and advice, it was very helpful and my first go at blocking worked out perfectly. I recommend this scarf for a beginner, it's easy, repetitive and has been a nice way to start out. I also found this book outstanding and easy to follow.

More creative spaces at Kirsty's of course!
It looks fantastic Gret!
ReplyDeleteGood on you for sticking with it, looking forward to seeing lots more hookery here x
That is a beautiful scarf Gretel. You have encouraged me greatly as I too saw this on Kate's blog and now have the pattern. I have to laugh because the book you refer to is on my wishlist at present! hahaha- it's a 'great minds' moment. As you know, love love love the green. Yes, I think I will have to do a green one too (once I get all my knitting done!). BTW, I blocked my first hand made garment the other day too! Crafting is truly liberating no? xxx Fi
