Pink Pouch

Most of us are sick today at our place - husband has gone to work with a cold, leaving me to juggle the two littlies who both have head colds. One demands everything, dropping toys, tissues and clothing all over the house, and the other gets cranky during feeds and wants to be held all day (you know the routine).  Thankfully I have escaped the bug so far... so a quick feel-good project was in order while the littlest slept to assist us with cabin fever - I made this pink coin purse for the big girl this morning and let her choose the colours.

What else would a 3.5 year old girl have chosen?  It's her first real money pouch, so she thinks it's rather special and has been playing shops with me all day.

I rather like it now that it's done too. :)

My creative space.

There's a lot going on in my creative space today.  I'm still trying to squeeze in some time to finish this quilt top, I'm trying to make some more lace pouches for the shop, I have a Wiksten Tova on the go, and I have two skeins of this gorgeous Madeline Tosh Merino DK sitting in my yarn box while I'm trying to decide what to make with it.  In short, a lot of stuff in my head and on the table.

The colour of this yarn is so beautiful.  I'm thinking something warm for my neck this winter....any suggestions welcome!

Love this vintage...

Teddy.  My very first teddy in fact, he's 35 years old this year.  Mum dug him out of a box a few weeks ago and kindly repaired him, so he's now been claimed by Miss 3 1/2 who's taken to sleeping with him and has given him the name "Gretel" since he used to be mine.  Not quite sure how I feel about this, but I guess it's sort of cute.   I'm saving my first doll for V, though she too needs some work - the poor thing has no hair at the moment.

Did you save anything from your childhood?

Serenity.

Enjoying my day off from 3 year old today.  I should be doing other things but instead while the little one sleeps I'm putting a quilt top together, taking photos of it and blogging about it (productive in it's own way).  Loving how this quilt is coming together so far - it's been a long time coming but finally I'm onto it.

V's quilt progress

I'm going for serenity, calm and gentle in these quilt colours.  It's headed for V's room and I'm hoping it helps create a beautiful tranquil sleeping space.

Hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready to face the week ahead.  I'm off to make a coffee and eat something sweet - provided that little baby of mine doesn't wake up  - she has superpowers that sense when I'm just about to relax...

Puzzle Ball.

This poor little fella's been sitting in my unfinished project box for about 2 years now, and it's about time I finished him.  I finally got the chance (and inclination) to complete what I should have 2 years ago - he was originally intended to be a last minute gift, but time got away from me and I had to leave him be until now.  I actually forgot about it and in the end it was only a couple of night's work and he was completed.

Perfect?  Absolutely not.  Actually extremely crooked, but fun to make and a clever, pretty and very forgiving pattern from Joelle Hoverson's lovely book.

Now my littlest girl doesn't have to miss out on some handmade fun.  Those grabby little hands have already started (where has 4 months gone?).

Shop now open

And off we go again on the weekly merry-go-round.  Can you believe how fast the weeks are rolling by this year? I hope all you Mamas had a lovely day yesterday (or today if you're still celebrating) -  I spent the day with my 3 lovelies, just relaxing and chilling out, which was exactly what I needed.

But Monday has arrived here and I've finally got my act together post baby and I've opened up my shop again, including new listings of smaller bibs in some different fabrics (the print below is a personal favourite).   These smaller items are more suited to little ones 0-6 months of age.  They're super absorbant and fit with complete coverage around the neck.

I still have several larger bibs, for 6 months to toddler in stock, along with some coin purses, clutches and brooches.

I'd love to know what you think :)

More new items coming soon.

Something lovely.

How lovely are these beautiful pieces from Grace Designs' 'Evenings' collection?  Ros has created an absolutely stunning range of limited edition handmade headwear, perfect for special occasions  - brides,  fancy dress parties, or even with a frock at a ball or gala event.

I'm absolutely loving the combo of vintage glam and fresh simplicity in these pieces.  Now I'm wishing I had much longer hair (but I am trying to grow it for a change, so headwear might not be too far away for me!  Oh the pain of going from short to some kind of length...)

Love this vintage...

Set of blue frames from Vintage Cat Eye Glasses.  If I wore specs then I might just be having a closer look at these. Cute, huh?  They'll set you back $120 if you really love them.

Its been a little hectic over the weekend here.  Birthdays, building, boxing/unboxing books and baby - not much crafting time, but fun nonetheless.  Anyhow, I'm off to the shops with my two in tow to restock on a few groceries (read: no bread or milk in this place).  Hope your week is treating you well.

Cherub Cheeks

Cherub Cheeks Beanie

Finished.  And so glad I'm back on the hook - this lovely sweet pattern by Amanda is simple and straightforward, just what I needed to get my eye (and hands) in again.  I actually couldn't believe how quick a project like this could be. Quick and easy is right up my alley so this pattern's going onto the last minute gift list that's for sure.  I'm loving that projects like this can be done on the couch, not leaning over a sewing machine.

She's loving the colour by the way.
